Fashion Photography Archive showcases forty years of contemporary fashion history and is available for institutional purchase via subscription or perpetual access. Images are copyright-cleared for educational purposes and corporate licensing options are also available.

With more than 750,000* high-quality runway, backstage, and street style images, the Fashion Photography Archive advances knowledge of recent fashion history and gives inspiration for fashion design students. 

Iconic moments from the core collection:

Naomi Campbell topples off her platform heels during a Vivienne Westwood show (A/W 1993).

Shalom Harlow’s white tulle dress is spray painted in a statement about production processes in the fashion industry (Alexander McQueen, S/S 1999).

Four chair covers and a coffee table are transformed into dresses and a wooden skirt (Hussein Chalayan, A/W 2000) – pieces inspired by refugees forced to flee conflict and to carry their possessions with them.

Editor-in-Chief Valerie Steele interviews Niall McInerney, the photographer of the Fashion Photography Archive, in a series of short videos which cover a range of different topics.

Niall McInerny's career in fashion photography crossed four decades. The giant selection of images in the Fashion Photography Archive reflects the variety of shows, designers, supermodels, and celebrities that he captured during this time. Here, Valerie Steele interviews him about what it was like to photograph catwalk shows, back stage, and street style – and asks him for his insight into the shows of some of the world’s best known designers.
